Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, and Ashura follow the Islamic lunar calendar, which changes each year. The public does not observe some holidays, including bank holidays.

All government entities and major sectors will have a clear 2025 public holiday schedule with this declaration. The government also declared minorities’ holidays including Holi, Baisakhi, Good Friday, Diwali, and Guru Nanak Devji’s birthday.

Public holidays for 2025 in Pakistan announced

The federal government announced the 2025 public and private holidays on national holidays, Muslim and minority festivals on Monday.

The calendar lists February 5 as the first holiday and March 23 as Pakistan Day.

Three Eid-ul-Fitr holidays and Labour Day on May 1 are expected from the government in March.
